Transrapid 02
With the Transrapid 02 in 1971, development moved from a model to a vehicle with seats. On the test track in Munich-Allach, it reached 164 km/h.

History
From model to test vehicle
164 km/h, as early as 1971, with eight seats on board.
After the small levitation model TR01, Krauss-Maffei built its first real test vehicle, the TR02. It had eight seats and ran on a 930-meter track in Munich-Allach.
The TR02 was powered by an asynchronous short-stator linear motor, meaning the drive was located in the vehicle. It was designed for 150 km/h and reached 164 km/h.
