Switch for the CRRC CF600 Unveiled

For the first time, the steel bending switch for China's maglev trains has been put into operation. In this post I compare the switch with its predecessors and with the Bögl concrete bending switch.

What stands out immediately is that the switch is based on the ThyssenKrupp switches. Among other things, switches for low speeds were developed and built, but the current switch is considerably longer and designed for a much higher speed.

Use

The new steel bending switch is currently being tested near the Chinese plant. This shows that switch manufacturing in China has also already advanced, as have the guideways to be used with it, but that calls for a separate post. All that is currently missing is a line suitable for deployment. And who knows, perhaps this switch will also come to Germany’s TVE, if the TVE is reactivated.
