Transrapid Petition to Be Handed Over Soon
The next milestone has been reached: printing of my petition “#Transrapid in Deutschland einsetzen!” (Deploy the Transrapid in Germany!) has officially been commissioned. Each individual petition package comprises over 900 pages and contains a comprehensive, fact-based position paper by the initiator, all almost 62,000 signatures and all roughly 18,000 personal comments. Each copy thus impressively documents the public relevance of the cause.
This material will shortly be handed over to two institutions: the German Federal Ministry of Transport and the Petitions Committee of the German Bundestag (parliament). Whether the handover will take place in person or by mail is currently still being coordinated with the responsible offices.
Printing the complete petition incurs costs in the low three-digit range. Without the support of all MagnetBahn+ members and the revenue from the online shop, this would not have been possible in this form. A big thank you at this point to everyone whose contributions and purchases helped make this project a reality.
In addition, further copies of the petition are being produced to hand over specifically to members of the Bundestag or parliamentary groups who want to support the Transrapid as a future-proof mobility solution. To this end, all Bundestag parliamentary groups were contacted by email with a request to say whether they are interested in a personal handover. At the same time, attention was drawn to the substantive significance of the petition, which makes visible not only technological opportunities but also a growing public desire for change.
